Marius is a character in the British television series Utopia. Marius is a man of Romanian descent whom Wendy brings to Phillip Carvell in an attempt to communicate with him as he currently doesn't speak English.
Marius has a very callous and arrogant attitude, to the dismay of Grant and Wendy, to the point that Grant calls Marius a "twatface".
As Marius starts to communicate with Phillip Carvell, he realizes Phillip isn't speaking Romanian, but Romani (Gypsy). He relays this to Grant and Becky very rudely, calling the two "racist bastards".
When Marius asks Phillip where he is from, he confirms that he is born in Romania. Marius still says Grant and Becky are "racist bastards". Over the course of the session, Marius translates Phillip's account about his time in the Belzec Concentration Camp but with the rest of his extended family being killed, his traumatic experiences in the camp and how he escaped by escaping an incinerator and hiding in a pile of corpses for 2 days at the age of 5. Marius also translates on how Phillip wanted to use his mind to prevent any genocide like this from happening again.
After he finishes translating for them, he waits around for a while until he is shot and killed by Pietre.
After his death, he appears as a hallucination, tormenting Becky when she withdraws on her drug, Theraxin.
